Spoons
- As a beginner, you will learn the basic techniques of spoon carving, including axe, knife, and spoon knife skills.
- As an advanced participant, you will receive a customized program based on your experience, and you can decide what you want to make or learn.
- If you're unsure about what to expect from spoon carving or would like to try it first, an introductory lesson is ideal.
- Each workshop is limited to a maximum of 8 participants, ensuring intensive and personal guidance.
Bowls
- As a beginner, you will learn the basic techniques of the manual pole lathe: shaping the wood, turning a bowl, getting to know the turning hooks, and finishing with a spoon knife.
- As an advanced participant, you will receive a customized program based on your experience, and you can decide what you want to make or learn.
- Working on the pole lathe can be physically challenging.
- Each workshop is limited to a maximum of 6 participants, ensuring intensive and personal guidance.
Initiation Workshop
Would you like to try spoon carving or bowl turning just once, give someone a lesson as a gift, plan a bachelor/bachelorette party, team building, or a fun outing with friends or family...?
Advanced Workshop
Would you like to explore all the steps involved in spoon carving and/or bowl turning? You will learn axe work, shaping techniques, spoon knives, finishing, and more... Everyone works at their own level, from beginner to advanced.
Themed Workshop
Intensive workshops focused on a specific technique or featuring a guest instructor.
Registration
Through the webshop, you can view the available workshops and register. You will receive a confirmation email, but your registration is only final once payment has been completed. Payment can be made up to 6 weeks before the course start date to account number BE13 1431 1614 1639, with your name as the reference.
Want to cancel? Cancellations are free of charge up to 4 weeks before the workshop. Cancellations made up to one week before the workshop will receive a 50% refund of the registration fee. Cancellations made in the last week before the workshop are non-refundable.
Do the lesson times not work for you, or are the classes fully booked? Feel free to let me know when you'd like to carve a bowl or spoon, and I'll see what's possible.
Location
The lessons take place in the Handgemaakt Geluk workshop: Brieversweg 410, 8310 Sint-Kruis (Bruges).
There is ample parking available across from the house. You can also park at the 't Couvent meeting center parking lot, Kanunnik Decoeneplein, or in the nearby streets.
Conditions
Handgemaak Geluk reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course without being held liable and without compensation. In such cases, participants will be given the option to cancel with a full refund of the registration fee.
Courses will only take place if a minimum of 4 participants is reached, unless otherwise stated.
Handgemaak Geluk is not responsible for any material or bodily damage caused by accidents before, during, or after the workshop, except in cases of civil liability.
